Winning concept at the Industry of Things World Hackathon - Berlin2018

Winning concept at the Bosch Start-up Harbour

MamiWata  is a social start-up project in the seeding stage, whose prime mission is to develop cost effective and customizable devices which can  monitor water quality. The solutions are IOT based devices which have specific sensors to monitor water quality based on needs and requirements. Solutions can be offered in multiple situations - simpler or highly complex.

In a simple use-case scenario, the measurements taken and processed locally within the device and the results are given to the a specific user using GSM technology. Complex scenarios can also be tackled by trafficking data to cloud based servers for advanced analytics and tailor made reports can be retrieved by the user as and when required. Also data can be stored for required periods of time as demanded by the end-customer.

The salient highlight of the each of these devices is that these devices can be designed and developed based on requirements and demands of the customer. Other interesting features of these devices will be the ability to upscale and downscale, advanced data analytics with cloud based platforms like Azure, ease of use and the design approach of the device.

These devices have a wide scope of use ranging from individuals who want to monitor water quality to large NGOs and environmental agencies that work in the global arena to develop policies and projects to monitor water quality.

- FAHRADOO -

Winning concept at the DB Smart Mobility and Logistics Hackathon - Hamburg 2018

Fahradoo is a concept aimed incorporating green and healthy mobility logistics in the "Last Mile" of the cargo delivery

The application can be incorporated into existing applications and provide options for material delivery form the buyer to the seller using a bicycle

As a part of the team I played a key role in persona and wireframing design for the application.

I was also involved in designing an UI for the delivery personnel's application using the API called Graphhopper which uses GPS locations and maps.

I also played a major role in design thinking and data extraction and transformation and to design ML models for better decision making.

Our team won the hackathon in the category "Idea for the Future" and was invited to present for a start-up seeding at the MindBox which is DeutscheBahn's incubator program.

UX Research : e-Prescription Platform - ID GmbH Berlin

Problem of research:

To analyse the click fatigue in the UX and improve the efficiency of the interface.

Tools:

Semi-structured surveys, Content analysis (framework and visual), Heuristic evaluation, LEAN evaluation, Process mapping and descriptive statistics, Tableau, Photoshop

Highlights:

Fatigue assessment mathematical model, financial assessment model, using LEAN principles, use of Fitts' and Hick's laws to redesign, design of a pie chart to replace a linear chart.
This research was part of my master's thesis.

- Data Science Projects -

FIFA Prediction model:

Part of the team to develop a machine learning model to predict the FIFA world cup 2018 match winners.Data used was cleaned historic data (extracted using "beautifulsoup python package")
Data points used were :

Historic and current FIFA rankings, historic win or loss, FIFA player rankings.

Player rankings given the maximum weightage

ML Algorithm:

Decision trees and random forests

Diabetic log reg model:

To clean the raw data for analysis and derive insights from the data

To create visualizations using the data using python and tableau to help generate insights and relation between the various features.

To build a log reg model which can be used to decide which of these features has a better influence on the patient’s diabetic control apart from his diet.

Model application: Packages used: Pandas, numpy, matplotlib.pyplot, seaborn, sklearn Visualization of this was also done in “Tableau” Acknowledgements: Dmitri for sharing the data sets

Chitralayam Dental is my own dental practice in Pondicherry.

Apart from being the lead dental surgeon and a oral medicine and radiology specialist, I played multiple roles.

Projects:

"Giving back to the society" was a healthcare project in which children from specific orphanages and geriatric patients from old age homes were treated for free. This project was designed and implemented successfully and approximately 1500 patients were treated for two years between 2012-2014.

As a treasurer of the Indian Dental Association, Pondicherry Branch, and in association with Colgate, rural health care were designed, structured and implemented by recruiting 20 voluntary dentists and 25000 children were screened and educated for oral hygiene awareness.

Digital Marketing:

Designed and implemented Google ad words campaign, geo-tagging and facebook campaigns to increase the revenue and patient floe by 20%

Designed brochures, newsletters and pamphlets for  online marketing and e-mail distributions
